Sunday Development League

January 17th, 2020

Thanks to all those who have responded to the various Development League emails that have been sent out over the last three months.

By way of an update, the following Clubs have confirmed their participation this summer: Berkhamsted, Cheshunt Rosedale, Chorleywood, Hatfield Hyde, Kings Langley, Langleybury, Letchwood Garden City, Leverstock Green, Radlett, Redbourn, Sawbridgeworth, Shenley Village, St Albans, Stevenage, West Herts and Wheathampstead. Braughing and Hatch End have also advised they too would like to play this year, but have requested they either join forces with another Club, (local to them), or are happy to have other local Clubs offer/provide them with players.

The following Clubs have advised they will not be taking part this summer, but may do at some stage in the future: Botany Bay, Boxmoor, Broxbourne, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin CC, Hoddesdon, Northampton Exiles, Northchurch, Northwood Town CC, Old Finchleians, Old Owens, Rickmansworth, Tring Park and Welwyn Garden City.

The closing date for entries is 31st January, 2020 and any Club looking for further information should contact George White at

The concept of this Sunday League is to encourage juniors, who do not necessarily play League cricket for their Clubs on a Saturday, to start out on the pathway to playing senior cricket. Once the “pool” draw has been made, Clubs are free to arrange the date and venue at their mutual convenience, but ideally during July and August. It is hoped that in this first season back, each Club will have 3-4 games minimum, though please feel free to arrange more if you have the players and pitch availability.
